Poetry is not only something we read.
It can happen between strangers.
It can enter a room.
It can become an object, a performance, a question or a way of gathering people together.
About Verseworks
Verseworks is a multilingual poetry studio creating participatory experiences, performances, installations and commissions for festivals, cultural institutions, public spaces, hospitality and brands.
We work with poets, writers, performers, artists and designers to bring language into public and shared spaces.
Our projects range from performances, participatory programmes and public art to installations, multilingual commissions and poems created live with individual participants. Whatever the scale, the purpose is the same: to create a meaningful encounter through words.
Our approach
Personalized
Each project is shaped around its audience, setting and cultural context.
Participatory
We create ways for people to enter the work rather than only observe it.
Multilingual by design
Language is considered from the beginning, not added as an afterthought.
Artist-led and professionally produced
We respect the integrity of the artists while making the commissioning process clear and dependable for clients.
Made to remain
Even temporary experiences can leave behind a poem, publication, memory or changed relationship to a place.
The people behind the poems
Verseworks brings together poets and creative collaborators according to the needs of each commission.
Our network includes
- Page poets
- Spoken-word artists
- Multilingual writers
- Performers
- Workshop facilitators
- Moderators
- Visual artists
- Designers
- Creative producers
We select collaborators for the context rather than applying one fixed roster to every project.
Founder
Wided Rihana Khadraoui
Verseworks was founded by Wided Rihana Khadraoui, a published poet, cultural strategist and producer working across contemporary art, cultural institutions and international events. Her work brings together artistic practice, audience experience and cultural production. Verseworks grew from the idea that poetry can operate not only as literature or performance, but as a live medium for participation, something people can enter, shape and encounter together.
